Where Is Snow White’s Pretty Red Bow?

Hello guys! Keonna Nelson Media here! And yes, it has been quite awhile since I’ve blogged but I am back for a quick rant about the new Disney’s 2025 Snow White movie.

2025 Snow White Teaser Trailer, Am I Missing Something?

The first teaser trailer for the upcoming live-action remake of Disney’s Snow White is here! Starring Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen. The highly anticipated teaser showcased at the Disney’s D23 Expo Friday evening and gave its official released date on March 21, 2025. As I began to watch the trailer, there was a few things that seemed off to me.

Why so much CGI?

As much for wishful thinking, I would’ve thought this movie will have more creativity and authenticity of trying to reimagine such a beautiful film. The original Snow White animation was very light and warm, 2025 version just seem saturated and dark. And don’t get me wrong, the cgi graphics are great but the contrast of it doesn’t make it a welcoming sight.

Let’s talk about the Peter Dinklage in the room.

Back in 2022 interview, actor Peter Dinklage criticized Disney for its plan to release a live-action remake, stating he was “taken aback” by them of casting Zegler as a Latina lead while revisiting a story with an unflattering representation of dwarfs. Let’s be honest, cgi dwarfs is an unflattering representation of Dwarfs, it sucks. Give the dwarfism community a chance to create, promote, educate and expand in Hollywood.

Where’s the Huntsman? Is he a secret reveal?

I’ve noticed there was no cameo of the Huntsman in the movie trailer. The trailer shows an army of soldiers on horses but not the iconic Huntsman himself?

I wouldn’t be surprised if this character becomes inclusive.

Lastly, where’s her pretty red bow?!

I want to hold some faith to this film, this is Disney first princess and it would be a shame to watch it go down the drain by controversy, wokeness, political, and pandering moments.

Her lovely red bow is missing and in my opinion, it is a statement piece of her image and it’s not there? Very weird. In the clip shows a second of some type of red headband? You can barely see the shot but the rest of the footage show her without one, it’s quite disappointing.

Snow White’s softness, demure, and her signature red bow paints such a beauty in the original, looking at the new version it doesn’t give me the same feeling.

But with all fairness, I will give this a watch when it comes out next year. Maybe with all the controversy and reshoots, Disney will get a chance to redeem itself.
