The digital age has brought a new wave of content creators, streamers, YouTubers, and influencers, etc. who grew large followings and substantial financial rewards for their content. However, the clout-chasing and viral based content has made these online personalities choose to monetize content related to potential crimes or dangerous situations.

Monetization of Potential Crimes

Sensationalizing Criminal Activity: Some content creators are known to sensationalize potential crimes for views and clicks. This might involve filming or reporting on illegal activities, violence, or other morally questionable behavior. With such content, while it may attract attention, it raises concerns about promoting or glamorizing illegal activities.

Profit Over Responsibility: The lure of financial gain can sometimes overshadow moral responsibility. For views and sponsorships, some influencers may be tempted to exploit situations where they have the power to intervene but choose not to do so.

Impact on Young Audiences: Many of these influencers have a big impact on the youth and other audiences. When they prioritize profit over ethical responsibility, they risk normalizing and desensitizing their viewers to potentially harmful behaviors and make them do illegal things.
